Colin December 10, 2015 at 2:47 pm Thanks so much for the Kislev webcast. So good to share it. I am looking forward to watching the Tevet episode! When Gil was asking about the promise concerning the stars and the sand, I thought like him of the heavens and earth – the Lord is the maker of the heavens and earth, and He gave Abraham a sign both in the heavens above and the earth below, two witnesses to His promise! Also, as you were talking about light, and being light, I realised that we are only light as we reflect His light; we are not light of ourselves. The image of the moon is useful in this connection – the moon only shines with reflected light, and the measure to which it turns to the sun is the measure its light is seen – so it waxes and wanes according to its relationship with the solar source. For me, that’s an image of the light which we give out- it all depends on how much we are in relationship with the Lord as to how much we can be light. So, Hag Sameach Hanukkah, and may you always be the light reflected from His face, by which He illumines His people.
